About
Background and Approach

Therapy for people who are ready for something to change
Many of the couples and individuals I work with are capable, driven, and responsible. From the outside, life may look successful. At home, however, communication feels strained, resentment continues to build, or the same problems keep resurfacing without ever being resolved.
You may know something needs to change without knowing how to begin.
I’m Dr. Greg Moody. My approach is practical, direct, and collaborative. Therapy with me is not simply a place to talk about what is wrong. It is an opportunity to understand what is keeping you stuck, challenge patterns that are no longer serving you, and develop more effective ways of responding at home, at work, and within yourself.
Couples therapy
Most couples do not struggle because they do not care about each other. They struggle because patterns of conflict, distance, and self-protection can become stronger than their ability to connect.
Couples often come to me for concerns involving communication, intimacy, money, parenting, time, extended family, resentment, infidelity, or a breach of trust. Others want to strengthen an already healthy relationship before small concerns become larger ones.
We begin with where your relationship is now- not where you think it should be.
Our work may include identifying recurring cycles, repairing trust, improving communication, rebuilding emotional connection, and learning how to approach future challenges as partners. The goal is not simply to stop an argument. It is to create a stronger and more resilient relationship.
Therapy for men
Many men come to therapy after the pressure has been building for a long time. They may be experiencing stress, anger, depression, relationship strain, emotional disconnection, or the persistent sense that something is not right—even when they cannot fully explain what it is.
Some worry that therapy will involve talking endlessly without accomplishing anything. That is not how I work.
You will have space to be heard without judgment. You will also be challenged when appropriate and supported in finding practical ways to address what is happening in your relationships, your work, and your internal life.
Therapy does not require you to abandon strength. It can help you develop a more
intentional and effective understanding of what strength requires.
Support for professionals, executives, and business owners
Professional success can come with pressures that are difficult to explain to people who have not experienced them.
I have owned and operated businesses in retail and consulting for more than three decades. I understand leadership pressure, decision fatigue, financial responsibility, and how closely identity can become tied to performance.
This experience allows me to consider the full context of your life. We can address the immediate concern while also examining how professional demands affect your relationships, family, emotional well-being, and sense of self.
You may be accustomed to being the person others depend on. Therapy gives you a place to consider what you need, too.

Before becoming a therapist, I began my career as an aerospace engineer- literally working as a rocket scientist.
I later earned a master’s degree in counseling from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on special needs and gifted education. My doctoral research focused on bullying prevention and martial arts, with additional work involving children with autism.
Alongside my clinical work, I have owned and operated multiple businesses and consulted in education, conflict resolution, bullying prevention, marketing, and business development.
I am also a martial artist with more than 30 years of experience and hold the rank of eighth-degree Black Belt and the title of Chief Master Instructor in Taekwondo. I have worked with students ranging from young children with special needs to adult champion competitors.
These experiences shape how I understand discipline, resilience, emotional regulation, performance, and meaningful long-term change.
